Nation Builder Award: Productivity and related

This award seeks to highlight innovative initiatives that relate to the programs, policies, procedures, best practices, or services provided by production, construction, and related services. 

The successful nomination will concisely explain the issue, how it relates to the increment in productivity. Documentation and results of assessments should include learning or success outcomes; how the program/service relates to a critical need and its theoretical foundation. 

Overview of Nation Builder Awards

Castle Power Solutions and SEM recognizes the contributions of its customers who are transforming nation-building through outstanding programs, innovative services, and effective administration. All SEM customers are encouraged to enter recently developed and/or longstanding programs and initiatives for consideration for the Nation Builder Awards.

Programs selected for recognition in each category will receive one of three designations: Gold, Silver, or Bronze. The gold recipients from each category will be further judged for the designations of Grand Gold, Grand Silver, and Grand Bronze.

Applications will open starting April 5, 2022, and will be closed after September 15, 2022. There is no specific time by which your submission must be made. Award recipients will be recognized during the Castle Power Solutions Anniversary in Manila, Philippines on November 8, 2022. 

If the submission relates to a program that relies on substantive use of multimedia technology, a link to those materials should be embedded in the award submission. The materials must be accessible to committee members without the need for user identification or password.

Nation Builder Awards Judging Criteria

Entries within each category will be reviewed by a cross-section of experienced CPS SEM managers. Three to five judges will independently review submissions using the following criteria:

  • Impact on your learning and success demonstrated through transition, retention, or achievement outcomes

  • Success in addressing your needs or responding to critical concerns and issues

  • Involvement, inclusion, and collaboration with your departments in planning and implementation

  • Use of innovative and creative methods, practices, or activities including the use of social media and emerging technologies

  • Application of available or emerging theoretical models, practical research, and program assessment


In addition, submissions will also be assessed for the quality of the program description, explanation of concepts, and clarity of writing. Please see this link for the rubric which will be used for assessment.

Nation Builder Awards Recognition

Gold Award recipients will:

  • Be eligible for the Grand Gold, Grand Silver, and Grand Bronze Award designating the top three programs or initiatives.

  • Receive Nation Builder Awards Certificates of Gold.

  • Be showcased in a collection of Gold Award recipients on the Nation Builders Awards web resource center.

  • Local media press release to announce the achievement.

  • The recipients of the Grand Gold, Grand Silver, and Grand Bronze awards will receive a trophy, SEM merchandise, and scale model.


Silver and Bronze Award recipients will:

  • Receive Nation Builder Awards Certificates of Silver or Bronze.

  • Be included in a collection of selected entries on the Nation Builder Awards web resource center.

  • Local media press release to announce the achievement.

Nation Builder Awards Application Requirements

o be considered for a Nation Builder Award, you must submit the following information:

  • Correspond to one Excellence Award category

  • Program title

  • Executive summary (500 words or less)

  • Learning and/or success

  • Operation and/or organization needs

  • Collaboration and sustainability

  • Originality and creativity

  • Application of research, theory, and assessment

  • Supporting documents or materials (maximum of two)
